| The Lexington Park Lions Club is recognizing several important national observances this week, each aligned with the organization’s mission of service, compassion, and community health.
Veterans Day, observed on November 11, honors the brave men and women who have served our nation. The Lions Club encourages residents to take a moment to thank a veteran, extend support to military families, and recognize the continued sacrifices made in service to our freedom.
World Kindness Day, recognized on November 13, serves as a reminder of the impact that small acts of kindness can have across the community. Lions members invite everyone to share encouragement, lend a helping hand, and practice kindness in ways that strengthen our neighborhoods and uplift those in need.
World Diabetes Day, observed on November 14, highlights the importance of diabetes awareness, education, and prevention. As part of Lions Clubs International’s global focus on diabetes, the Lexington Park Lions encourage the community to learn about risk factors, support early screening, and promote healthy living. Throughout National Diabetes Month, Lions members continue advocating for increased awareness and access to local health resources.
In addition to these observances, the Lions Club reminds the community that National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week begins November 16, underscoring local and national efforts to address food insecurity and support vulnerable families.
A Call to Serve Locally
The Lexington Park Lions Club invites community members to join their ongoing outreach efforts, including food-security initiatives and health-awareness activities throughout November. By volunteering, donating, or simply sharing Lions messaging, residents can help bring meaningful support to neighbors across St. Mary’s County.
