Community Focus: Women’s History Month and World Hearing Day Observed by Lions

As we welcome a new week, the Lexington Park Lions Club continues its commitment to service, awareness, and community engagement. March brings opportunities to recognize leadership, promote health, and celebrate those who make a difference locally and around the world.

March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the achievements, leadership, and contributions of women throughout history and within our own community. We recognize the many women who serve as leaders, volunteers, educators, healthcare professionals, first responders, and mentors. Their dedication strengthens Lexington Park every day.

On March 3, we observe World Hearing Day. This global awareness day highlights the importance of hearing health and early detection of hearing loss. Regular screenings, protecting your ears from excessive noise, and seeking professional care when concerns arise are simple but important steps toward lifelong hearing wellness. As Lions, we support initiatives that promote access to health services and improve quality of life.

March 8 marks International Women’s Day, celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and civic contributions of women worldwide. We are proud of the women within our club and community who exemplify service, leadership, and compassion.

Throughout the week, we encourage residents to consider how they can make a positive impact - whether through volunteering, mentoring youth, supporting local initiatives, or simply checking in on a neighbor.
