Seeing a Brighter Future
Eye care has always been at the heart of what we do. This year, thanks to our amazing partners at MyEyeDr in California, MD, we helped 48 individuals get the vision care they needed. Whether it was new glasses or an exam, we’re proud to help our neighbors see more clearly.
Hearing Support that Brings Hope
With the support of Chesapeake Audiology, we extended hearing assistance to four members of our community. It may seem like a small number, but for each of those individuals, the impact was life-changing.
Caring for Families in Crisis
Sometimes, the smallest gestures make the biggest difference. This year, we distributed comfort bags - filled with toys and calming tools - to local first responders and crisis teams in both Calvert and St. Mary’s counties. These bags help responders connect with children during tough situations. And during the holidays, we played Santa for a local family of eight, bringing gifts, joy, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Inspiring Art and Community Connection
In partnership with the St. Mary’s County Arts Council and the Community Development Committee, we helped fund artwork for six benches at the Community Garden in Lexington Manor Passive Park. We also supported a beautiful community mosaic project that brought people together during the first-ever County Culture and Cuisine Festival. That artwork now hangs proudly at St. Mary’s Caring Soup Kitchen.
And speaking of creativity, our partnership with Little People Child Care Center led to a heartwarming “Weekend with Santa.” Forty-eight kids sent their stuffed animals on a magical adventure to Santa’s workshop - and each child received a photo book to relive the fun.
Extending Kindness Beyond Our Backyard
This year, we were honored to support the Brandywine Lions Club in their effort to provide a diabetic alert dog for a child in need. This incredible service animal will bring both safety and independence to a young life.
Supporting Tomorrow’s Leaders
Education is a cornerstone of our mission. We awarded two scholarships to graduating seniors from Great Mills High School, helping launch them into the next chapter of their journey.

What’s Next for the Lions?
We’re not slowing down! Our popular “Weekend with Santa” will return this year, and we’re exploring exciting new ways to support the Leader Dog program, which trains guide dogs for those who are blind or visually impaired.
We’re proud of all we’ve done - but even more excited for what’s to come. Thank you to everyone who supported us, partnered with us, and believed in our mission. Together, we’re making a difference.
Interested in joining the Lions or getting involved? We’d love to hear from you!
