| The Lexington Park Lions Club is spotlighting compassion and healthy living during its weekly community update for February 16–22.
On February 17, the Club recognizes Random Acts of Kindness Day, encouraging residents to perform small gestures that create meaningful impact. Whether it’s checking in on a neighbor, paying for someone’s coffee, or offering a helping hand, small acts of kindness strengthen the fabric of our community.
February 20 marks National Caregiver’s Day, a time to honor those who dedicate themselves to caring for others. Caregivers—both professional and family members—provide invaluable support with compassion and resilience. The Lions Club encourages the community to take a moment to recognize and thank the caregivers who quietly serve every day.
On February 22, the Club highlights National Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day, raising awareness about a condition that often goes undetected. Residents are encouraged to learn the signs and symptoms of heart valve disease and speak with their healthcare providers about heart health, especially during February’s observance of American Heart Month.
Throughout the month, the Lexington Park Lions Club continues to promote heart-healthy habits, including regular exercise, balanced nutrition, routine medical checkups, and awareness of cardiovascular risk factors.
Service in Lions is rooted in simple but powerful principles: show up, serve others, and strengthen the community around you. If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to give back locally, meet new people, and be part of something bigger than yourself, the Lexington Park Lions Club welcomes community members who are ready to serve.
By recognizing caregivers, spreading kindness, and promoting heart health, the Club continues its mission of building a stronger Lexington Park — one act of service at a time.
